STACS DNA Presents Next Generation Sequencing at ASCLD 2018

May 18, 2018

WHO: Tim Stacy, Forensics Sales Director, STACS DNA

WHAT: Presenting at “Seq & You Shall Find: NGS is Advancing Forensic Investigations – Is Your Lab Ready?”

WHEN: Tuesday, May 22, 5:30 – 9:30 PM

American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors (ASCLD) Symposium 2018
Offsite event – Georgia Aquarium
Atlanta, GA

Session description:

Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) has revolutionized molecular biology and is poised to significantly advance forensic DNA profiling. Please join ASCLD sponsors Verogen, Battelle, STACS, and Aurora Biomed to learn about this transformative technology while enjoying dinner and a private view of the beluga whales in the Georgia Aquarium’s Arctic Room. Recent case studies will demonstrate how NGS can dramatically increase data recovery from challenging biological evidence, generate CODIS-compatible data, and valuable investigative leads, all in a single test. Updates will be provided on NDIS-approval status, automated workflows, and resources for implementation and outsourcing. Leaders from two laboratories in the process of implementing NGS into forensic casework will share valuable perspectives on how to prepare your lab and overcome typical implementation hurdles.

ALSO: Exhibiting May 21-23 at Marriott Marquis Atlanta, International Ballroom, Booth #302.
