“In further expanding our capacity as a scientific integrator, Dr. Young brings a wealth of experience essential to our current forensic casework and database customers, as well as to new markets.”
“Casework DNA labs can easily track and report sexual assault kit processing to help them save time and reduce errors with STACS-CW.”
Labs that are not thrilled with their LIMS don’t need to replace it, they can enhance it with STACS®.
The video shows the FBI DNA lab using STACS-CW Enterprise software to create a forensic audit trail of laboratory activity during sexual assault kit processing.
“We are very excited to have STACS technology at the Sheriff’s Office,” said Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard. “This is another key component to our Forensic Laboratory that will make us a top-notch facility in the state of Michigan.”
Forensic DNA laboratories have been able to go from contract to fully implemented with STACS-CW Enterprise sample processing software in 90 days or less.
They will share customer case studies of DNA labs that have substantially increased their productivity and their quality while spending less.
“The two labs increased their sample throughput by 46% and 150% respectfully without hiring a single additional analyst, saving salaries and benefits.”
Seven of the eight largest DNA databank labs in North American use STACS-DB Enterprise, including the FBI and RCMP.
STACS DNA will show Lab Directors and staff how STACS-CW Enterprise automatically tracks grant-related statistics and makes them easy to report to funding bodies, saving both grant managers and criminologists hours and hours.
Grant managers spend hours preparing NIJ grant reports, and lab staff take hours away from critical casework when they use a spreadsheet to track their activities and consumables for grant reporting. STACS DNA will show Lab Directors how STACS-CW Enterprise automatically tracks grant-related statistics and makes them easy to report to funding bodies, saving both grant managers and criminologists considerable time.
The two labs increased their sample throughput by 146% and 250% respectfully, without hiring a single additional analyst, saving salaries and benefits. In fact, the labs would have each needed to hire and train 32% and 60% more analysts in order to achieve equivalent capacity gains if they had not automated.
Grant tracking saves grant managers and analysts time by automatically tracking grant-related statistics and making reporting to funding bodies easy.
Automatic Grant Tracking and Lab Budget Impact Analysis at AAFS2015
At SLAS 2015, STACS DNA will be showing how DNA labs, or labs that are increasing their levels of molecular testing, can reduce turnaround time without hiring.
“Forensic DNA lab managers face pressure to reduce turnaround times on shrinking budgets. STACS DNA’s Lab Budget Impact Analysis presents a cost comparison of the options, based on the lab’s own data, helping labs make financial decisions based on evidence.”
Tim Stacy will present customer case studies which show how two casework DNA labs substantially increased their productivity while spending less through the use of technology.
STACS DNA will offer custom return on investment analyses for casework labs using a new ROI Calculator
The Michigan State Police has selected STACS-CW Enterprise for screening and processing DNA samples in its seven forensic science labs.
STACS DNA will present customer case studies which show how two casework DNA labs substantially increased their productivity while spending less through the use of technology – on July 31, 2014 at 9:10 AM at the Association of Forensic DNA Analysts and Administrators (AFDAA), at the Hilton Houston Post Oak Hotel in Houston, TX.
Malena Jimenez, formerly a Criminalist with customer Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Crime Laboratory Division, has joined STACS DNA as a Field Application Specialist.
This poster presented at ASCLD, May 6 at 12:30, highlights analysis of two DNA casework labs and demonstrates that technology can multiply the productivity of a DNA analyst, thus creating “Virtual DNA Analysts”. Labs can effectively reduce their backlog without hiring.
Missouri State Highway Patrol DNA casework lab reports processing 30% more cases, despite a shortage of almost half of their criminalists, one year after implementing STACS-CW Enterprise™.
MVRCL reports an 86% increase in its DNA sample processing output – the equivalent to tripling its lab staff – by implementing STACS-CW Enterprise™ along with other automation.
