Security & Confidentiality

Protecting Data and People

Protecting confidential information is not only a business requirement – in the context of DNA laboratories, it is also an ethical and legal requirement. STACS-PM™ meet security and confidentiality specifications as set by:

  • Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)
  • College of American Pathologists (CAP)
    • Laboratory Accreditation Program (LAP) and
    • CAP 15189
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Evaluation Program (CLEP)
  • ISO/IEC 17025
  • CFR Part 11
  • Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)

These accreditation bodies set requirements to protect information and systems from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, perusal, inspection, recording or destruction of data.

STACS DNA’s layered approach to security, in addition to leveraging the security components of Windows Integrated Authentication and Windows Server Domain Security, provides robust access control and protection of confidential and sensitive data without compromise. Powerful yet flexible Role Based Access Control (RBAC) ensures that data access can and is only performed by authorized personnel.
