Heather MacIntosh will present a poster illustrating how two casework DNA labs substantially increased their productivity while spending less through the use of technology. The two labs increased their sample throughput by 46% and 150% respectfully without hiring a single additional analyst, saving salaries and benefits. In fact, the labs would have each needed to hire and train 32% and 60% more analysts in order to achieve equivalent capacity gains if they had not automated.
