STaCS DNA Inc. today announced the release of STaCS-DB Enterprise™ Version 4.3.

STaCS DNA Inc., a leading provider of DNA automation software solutions announced today general availability of STaCS-DB Enterprise™ Version 4.3, the most comprehensive and reference product in the Forensic DNA Data Banking market.

Version 4.3 includes the following new features:

Added Enhancements to Controls, Robot, and Plate Layout configuration modules –Enhancements have been added to the Controls, Robot and Plate layout configuration modules.

Data Analysis –Re-amp Low PHR Samples for Reproducibility without Forcing the Match – Samples with PHRs on the first run that are being processed through Data Analysis for the second run will either have a match or no match. In the case of a match, Version 4.3 automatically pushes the sample ahead provided that the rest of the profile matches.

Enhancements to Managing GeneMapper Files – Version 4.3 provides the analyst with enhancements to manage GeneMapper files. After the first and second reads of the GeneMapper files, STaCS-DB 4.3 copies all the files from the workstation to the STaCS-DB server.

Archiving Tables from the Output Folder – Once the process is complete, STaCS-DB 4.3 archives the GeneMapper Output table (CODIS Table) that was created during Data Analysis. The archive path is from the Output folder to the Amp Plate folder located within the Archive folder.

Archiving Abandoned Plates – Once manual plates are rejected or abandoned, STaCS-DB 4.3 provides the analyst with the ability to archive them at Data Analysis.

Automatic Reworks via the GeneMapper Output Table – Analysts require the ability to specify sample rework points while working on individual samples in GeneMapper ID. Version 4.3 includes these rework points in the GeneMapper Output table.
Providing the Ability to Mark a Sample or Plate as a High Priority – STaCS-DB Version 4.3 has added the High Priority module which allows the analyst to identify and mark a sample or plate as high priority.

Running Concurrent Swabs – Version 4.3 provides the analyst with the ability to simultaneously run two concurrent swabs for the same sample.

Handling Concurrent Swabs at Plate Creation – STaCS-DB 4.3 does not allow two instances of the same sample to be placed onto the same plate.

Processing the First Swab through Data Analysis – At Data Analysis, when the Process File button is selected, STaCS-DB 4.3 notifies the analyst that the sample is a concurrent swab.

Processing the Second Swab through Data Analysis – In STaCS-DB 4.3, when the second swab is processed through Data Analysis, a user message is displayed that requires acknowledgement.

Configuring a Manual Plate Layout – STaCS-DB Version 4.3 allows the analyst to define a Manual Plate Layout.

Moving Samples from the Manual Worklist to the Automated Worklist – Version 4.3 allows the samples on the Plate Create Worklist that are marked for manual processing to be sent to the Automated Plate Create Worklist.

Outsource Batch Receiving – Importing a Failure List from the Outsourcing Laboratory – STaCS-DB 4.3 allows the analyst to import a .txt file containing any failed samples and their bar codes from the Outsourcing vendor.

Consumable Configuration – New Expiration Dates for Released Chemicals – Version 4.3 adds a new field to the New Consumable Type form that indicates the amount of time for which a consumable is valid from the time the consumable is released into the lab. A new optional field named “Post Release Shelf Life” has also been added to this form.

Configuring Consumables for Single Use – Version 4.3 provides the ability to specify a chemical/consumable as a single use item.

Multiple Enhancements – Multiple enhancements have been made to the following modules: Chemical Releasing; Inventory Control Sub-system; Instrument Maintenance Sub-system; View Plates, View Activities and DNA Lab Troubleshooter.

Enhanced Reports – Multiple enhancements have been made to the following reports: Inventory by Expiry Date; Strategic Report; Sample History; Consumable Consumption; and Consumable Inventory Status.

Consumable Alerts – STaCS-DB Version 4.3 has added a new module called Consumable Alerts that displays two worklists, - one for consumables about to expire and the second for consumables that are low in quantity.
