About Us

STACS DNA helps DNA labs meet performance and accountability expectations. We do this through sophisticated software that, based on each customer’s specific workflows, becomes the integrated hub of their automated DNA sample processing.

The result? An unprecedented acceleration in the ability to process DNA samples, leading to increased productivity, decreased costs, reduced backlogs and a faster time to patient benefits and public safety. Our customers also report reduced errors and increased data quality, resulting in smoother problem resolution and audits, and decreased use of paper.

No other commercial (COTS) bioinformatics is available today that delivers the specific functionality required by a DNA lab. During demos, we’ve seen people’s jaws drop at how sleek and powerful STACS software is and the benefits they can foresee for each module. If you run a DNA lab, you owe it to your lab to see it for yourself.

Every major forensic DNA database lab in North America uses STACS software. We work with databank and casework labs of all sizes.

STACS DNA delivers:

  • DNA lab processing software that becomes the core of your lab
  • Full integration with your DNA analytical environment, including your LIMS, scientific instrumentation and external systems such as CODIS or knowledge databases
  • An unparalleled level of customization with your specific workflows
  • A proven engagement process
  • Unlimited and unmatched customer support

Mission

STACS DNA enables DNA laboratories to significantly accelerate their DNA sample throughput, allowing them to more effectively serve their communities through increased performance and lower costs.

Vision

STACS DNA’s vision is to be the undisputed leader in DNA processing software solutions by maximizing the effectiveness of every DNA lab.

Why are we called STACS DNA?

“STACS DNA” stands for Sample Tracking And Control Software for DNA Labs. What we do is in our name!

History

STACS DNA has its origins in Anjura Technology Corporation, which was founded in 1992 to provide information technology consulting services to clients in private and public sectors. One of their clients, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), required software to drive its DNA data bank, and there was nothing on the market to meet their requirements. After successfully creating and implementing a solution for the RCMP, Anjura recognized the need within the DNA community and went on to commercialize that software, licensing it to forensics labs across North America.

Anjura’s consulting arm was acquired by CNC Global in 2005, at which time STACS DNA was founded as a separate company to focus exclusively on refining and supporting processing software for DNA labs. More recently, the company is working with laboratories in response to the explosion in health care testing, the advent of genomics and the dawn of the age of personalized medicine. The STACS DNA team has more than 15 years of  experience working to meet the stringent requirements of the DNA processing community.
